Isla Holbox

Isla Holbox (pronounced hol-bosh) was absolutely stunning. A tiny island, Holbox is only 30km long and less than a kilometre wide. It is home to Whale Sharks, which bring tourists in in droves to the tiny island. Expansive white sand beaches and clear, blue water make the island a beach dwellers delight.

I spent my days walking coast to coast, waist deep in the beautiful clear waters. Friends from Villadolid also happened to be on Holbox – so we walked and swam and played cards together. We were almost completely alone when walking in the water,  a welcome change from the throng of travellers elsewhere in the main township.

Not too much to say about Holbox – except that it was beautiful and relaxing. A perfect few nights to rest and appreciate my trip and the opportunities of travel.
